The Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) is pleased to offer the MATCH Program (Mentoring and Talent Cultivation Hub), a structured mentoring initiative designed to foster meaningful professional growth, career development, and engagement within the SIVB community.
The name MATCH reflects the core philosophy of the program: the thoughtful pairing of mentors and mentees and the spark that drives transformative personal and professional development.
PROGRAM PURPOSE
The MATCH Program is designed to support SIVB members through intentional mentoring relationships that promote learning, confidence, and career advancement. The program emphasizes:
- Alignment of career goals between mentors and mentees
- Shared professional and personal interests
- Respect for personal values
- Matching based on relevant experience and expertise
WHO SHOULD APPLY
The MATCH Program is designed primarily for SIVB Students and Postdoctoral Members who are seeking guidance, professional development, and increased engagement within the Society.
Mentors are experienced SIVB members who are committed to sharing insights, providing guidance, and supporting the growth of early‑career scientists.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The 2026 MATCH Program combines structured group engagement with individualized mentoring interactions.
Key Components:
- Group Workshops – Interactive virtual workshops focused on professional development, career exploration, networking, and skill building.

- Focus Group Engagement – A collaborative forum where mentors and mentees can learn together.
- Flexible Communication – Mentor–mentee pairs determine the communication format that best suits their needs.
Resources associated with workshops and sessions are shared with participants before and/or after meetings.
PROGRAM FORMAT
The MATCH Program is conducted primarily online, allowing for broad participation across locations. Participants will also have an opportunity to connect in person during the annual SIVB Meeting in June.
