In 2026, The Society for In Vitro Biology’s (SIVB) membership efforts focused on growth, engagement, retention, and professional development of our members. Building on the success of the 2025 MATCH (Mentoring and Talent Cultivation Hub) program, the 2026 program launched in April to provide structured mentoring for students and postdoctoral scientists. MATCH program includes one-on-one mentoring, monthly professional development workshops, and in-person networking opportunities designed to expand scientific knowledge, support career development, and strengthen long-term connections within SIVB. The MATCH program continues to be an important membership initiative which creates value for both mentors and mentees. These efforts have been complemented by webinars that deliver timely, and relevant content for our members. A notable example was the CAST-SIVB webinar on the regulatory landscape for gene-edited crops, which attracted more than 600 registrants and demonstrated broad global interest. In parallel, the Membership Committee advanced recruitment and retention efforts by reconnecting with former members, reaching out to prospective members, developing renewal communications, and promoting the benefits of SIVB membership through flyers and direct outreach. Regular committee meetings and active leadership have helped sustain momentum and guide these initiatives throughout the year.

If you are not yet a member, here are the benefits of SIVB membership:

  • Access Premium Resources – Get full access to our flagship In Vitro Cellular & Developmental Biology peer-reviewed journal, member newsletter, and an extensive library of on-demand scientific talks.
  • Stay at the Forefront of Innovation – Explore expert-curated content on emerging topics including gene editing, synthetic biology, crop improvement, future foods, cryopreservation, and more.
  • Present Your Research – Share your work at our annual meeting through specialized symposia, poster sessions, and presentations alongside internationally recognized speakers.
  • Grow Your Network – Build connections with scientists in academia, government, and industry who are tackling key challenges in biology, genomics, and biotechnology.
  • Gain Leadership Skills & Recognition – Help shape the Society’s direction through committee service while gaining recognition within and beyond SIVB.
  • And so much more!
