Three simple words that embody the spirit of preparation, focus, and action. They resonate perfectly with the anticipation and excitement building up to the 2025 In Vitro Biology Meeting in Norfolk, Virginia. Like an athlete at the starting line, each of us has worked diligently, ensuring we are fully prepared for this grand occasion. Now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is nearly upon us!

Ready highlights the essential role of thorough preparation. Much like athletes who train their bodies and minds long before race day, being “ready” for our annual meeting involves gathering topics and speakers, carefully planning, and securing every necessary resource. Through the commitment of the Program Committee, the Local Organizing Committee, the Conveners, the SIVB Business Office, and countless other devoted individuals, we have crafted a remarkable scientific program and organized engaging educational and social events. These combined efforts guarantee an experience that is not only informative but also memorable for all who attend.

Steady captures the focused expectation we now share. With the program officially finalized, we are honored to welcome Dr. Eliza Lockwood as our Keynote Speaker. Her presentation, “One Health: From Plague & Pestilence to Pharmaceuticals, Pesticides & Public Health,” promises engaging insights that are sure to inspire researchers, educators, and students alike. At the 2025 In Vitro Biology meeting participants can look forward to a breadth of workshops and symposia featuring topics such as genome editing, new breeding technologies, plant and animal cellular agriculture, synthetic biology, and signaling molecules etc. This year, we will also host an all-day scientific tour, “Science and Cells in Hampton Roads,” designed to showcase the region’s top-tier plant and animal research facilities. This immersive excursion includes visits to LifeNet Health, William & Mary, and Old Dominion University, offering unique opportunities for in-depth discussions and potential collaborations.

Adding to the excitement, Tuesday evening’s “Cruising with the Spirit: Dining and Dancing” social event aboard the Spirit of Norfolk will provide a spectacular backdrop of the Battleship Wisconsin, Hampton Roads Harbor, and the Norfolk Naval Base as the sun slowly descends on the horizon.

Go signals the moment to embrace the full experience of the meeting. Finalize your travel plans and get ready to check in at the Hilton Norfolk The Main, an exceptional waterfront location offering top-notch facilities for both the conference sessions and social gatherings. Seize the opportunity to engage with leading experts across various fields, participate in stimulating discussions, attend cutting-edge workshops, and step outside your usual research focus to explore the diverse range of topics presented.

We truly look forward to welcoming you to the 2025 In Vitro Biology Meeting. Connect with colleagues, forge new relationships, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the annual meeting, and create lasting memories. See you soon in Norfolk, Virginia!

Sincerely,

Piero Barone
