Advanced Tissue Culture Workshop: Saturday, May 31

On Saturday afternoon, May 31, SIVB will be offering an Advanced Tissue Culture Workshop from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm in Percival/Vernon. This workshop will focus on issues pertaining to best practices for managing and banking stem cells to make them suitable for clinical applications. Some of the issues to be addressed will include, ideal growth conditions, selection of appropriate medium and optimal conditions for cryopreservation. An overall comprehensive strategy for expanding, cryopreserving and recovering of stem cells is needed to get reliable and reproducible results while meeting regulatory requirements. Separate registration is required to participate in this session.

Tuesday Evening at Old Fort Jackson

A fun and casual evening will be held on Tuesday, June 3 from 5:45 pm – 9:00 pm. Join us for a Trolley Ride to Old Fort Jackson. A delightful union of transportation and entertainment, through humorous tales and fun facts, their hometown conductor’s guide, inform and amuse, making the trip unforgettable. Then, arrive at Old Fort Jackson, a beautifully preserved fort along the Savannah River which is Georgia’s oldest standing brick fortification. Experience unique views of Savannah’s riverfront skyline and the Talmadge Bridge while walking the grounds of this must-see National Historic Landmark. The price for this special evening event is $99 and includes round trip transportation on the Trolley, self-guided tour of Old Ft. Jackson, cannon ceremony, cookout dinner and host bar. Tickets are still available at the registration desk while supplies last.
