Plans are being finalized for the 2014 SIVB Annual Meeting which is being held jointly with the Society for Cryobiology (SfC). This is the first time these two organizations have joined together and this World Forum on Biology promises to be an outstanding and memorable experience.

Tuesday Evening Event at Old Fort Jackson

Plans are underway for a special evening on Tuesday, June 3 at Old Fort Jackson. Named after James Jackson, one-time governor of Georgia, Old Fort Jackson is a beautifully preserved fort along the Savannah River and is Georgia’s oldest standing brick fortification. Advanced Tissue Culture Workshop – Saturday, May 31

Join us on Saturday, May 31 when the Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) presents its annual workshop from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm on ‘Managing Stem Cells: From Bench to Clinic.” This workshop will focus on issues pertaining to best practices for managing and banking stem cells to make them suitable for clinical applications. Some of the issues to address will include, ideal growth conditions, selection of appropriate medium and optimal conditions for cryopreservation. An overall comprehensive strategy expanding, cryopreserving and recovering of stem cells is needed to get reliable and reproducible results while meeting regulatory requirements.
