PhytoTechnology Laboratories® was founded in 1997 by Dr. Kenneth and Janet Torres, with the goal of providing a premier source for quality plant tissue culture media, and biochemical and reagents for plant sciences. Initially, PhytoTechnology Laboratories provided plant tissue culture products to universities and micropropagation labs solely in North America. Today, PhytoTechnology Laboratories now provides products to university, government, agbiotech biopharmaceutical and micropropagation customers throughout the world, either directly or through one of twenty-seven international distributors.

PhytoTechnology Laboratories currently offers over 900 products not just for plant tissue culture but also for plant molecular biology, microbiology, phytopathology, phycology, and seed testing, and continues to expand these product lines each year. The company has grown from a staff of 2 to over 20 and expanded our production and R&D facilities to over 20,000 square feet. We remain dedicated to our roots, to do one thing and do it right; while providing the highest-quality media, biochemicals, reagents and supplies, all rigorously tested to meet standards of excellence for the plant biotech market.
