The Society for Cryobiology Joins SIVB in Savannah 2014
This year’s 2014 World Forum on Biology – Joint Meeting of the Society for In Vitro Biology and the Society for Cryobiology will be in Savannah, Georgia from May 31 – June 4. This first-time collaborative event between the SIVB and the SfC will provide both the intimacy and high quality science that are the focus of both organizations and you won’t want to miss it. PLAN TO COME EARLY: ADVANCED TISSUE CULTURE WORKSHOP BEING OFFERED ON SATURDAY, MAY 31
The Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) presents its annual workshop on ‘Good Laboratory Practices for Human Stem Cells: From the Bench to the Clinic and Beyond” on Saturday, May 31. This workshop will focus on issues pertaining to best practices for managing and banking stem cells to make them suitable for clinical applications. Some of the issues to address will include, ideal growth conditions, selection of appropriate medium and optimal conditions for cryopreservation. An overall comprehensive strategy that includes topics related to expanding, cryopreservation and recovery of stem cells is needed to get reliable and reproducible results while meeting regulatory requirements. Keep your eyes out for more details as they become available on this workshop, meant for in vitro scientists at all stages of their career!
