The Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) recently celebrated its 80th anniversary as a professional scientific organization at the 2026 In Vitro Biology Meeting in Reno, NV (June 6-10, 2026).

The Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) traveled to Reno, Nevada, for the first time in its history to host its 2026 Annual Meeting and 80th Anniversary Celebration.

The 2026 Planning Committee acknowledges the contributions and donations received from the following organizations and individuals for their support of the 2026 In Vitro Biology Meeting.

The highest honor given by the Society for In Vitro Biology is the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is presented to scientists who are considered pioneers or highly influential researchers to the science and art of cell culture.

The Society for In Vitro Biology established the Fellow Award to recognize outstanding professionals who have made significant contributions to the field of in vitro biology and demonstrated service to the Society.

The Early Career Award recognizes current members of the SIVB who are outstanding early-career scientists and who have made significant contributions to the field of in vitro biology and/or in the development of novel technologies that have advanced in vitro biology.

The Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) has thrived for decades thanks to the extraordinary dedication, passion, and selfless commitment of its volunteers. Since its founding, SIVB has remained a vibrant scientific community advancing research in plant and animal cell biology, tissue culture, and biotechnology achievements made possible through the tireless efforts of members who generously contribute their time and expertise.

The following student awards and postdoctoral travel grants were presented at the 2026 In Vitro Biology held at the Peppermill Resort and Spa in Reno, Nevada, from June 6 – 10, 2026.

The Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) In Vitro Animal Cell Science (IVACS) Section hosted the 2026 Postdoctoral Oral Presentation Competition on Monday, June 8, 2026.

The 2026 In Vitro Biology Meeting in Reno, Nevada, featured the Bob V. Conger Plant Biotechnology Student Oral Presentation Competition for Plant Biotechnology students.

The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF), the world’s largest international pre-college science competition, annually provides a forum for more than 1,500 high school students from over 40 countries to showcase their independent research.

The 2026 In Vitro Biology Meeting proudly hosted an oral presentation competition for Plant Biotechnology Postdoctoral Researchers, celebrating the innovative research and outstanding communication skills of our postdoctoral members.

In the USA, biotechnology is managed through a system of regulations which translate broad Congressional laws into enforceable, specific rules. These rules are established through a rule-making process that can include an opportunity for public comment. Rule-makers must in turn respond to each comment and explain why they are or are not incorporated into the final rule.
